Over the past few years, some 7,500 items have been consigned at the New & Used Ski Sale. Approximately 50% of the stock has been sold. We have a major material-handling problem and we ask for your help in consigning goods and reclaiming unsold goods.
We accept DH and XC ski gear, Snowboards and Snowshoes as well as items of clothing. All gear must be in good condition and cleaned. We will not accept dirty or soiled clothing, skis covered with a season's road dirt and salt, or XC skis with old wax or klister. We are reluctant to have our volunteers handle such gear and we could never sell it to our customers!

The majority of our customers are beginners. Some customers are intermediate skiers trading up or specialists looking for "rock skis".

The New & Used Ski Sale is a fund-raiser for the 3 hosting organisations with profits being used to promote and develop skiing through athlete development, ski safety programs, public education, XC trail grooming & tracksetting and other programs.
Approximately 300 volunteers work 800 shifts over 5 days, or about 4,000 hours.
Our volunteer staff makes it possible to retain the lowest commission rate - only 25% of the sale price is retained by the sponsoring organisations. This helps attract consigned goods and results in a better selection and lower prices for the purchaser.
However, we do have costs such as hall rental, PR and hot meals for our volunteers. As non-profit organisations, we are forced to charge a door admission, which includes the free parking at Max Bell.
